Moose are everywhere in the Dunière wildlife reserve. The moose population is very high. The hunting success rate is around 90%.

The moose hunting season runs from September 8th to November 7th, 2026.
Moose hunting is regulated and subject to a draw, ensuring fairness for hunters and contributing to the sustainable management of the resource.
To hunt, you must have a valid moose hunting permit, along with its transport coupon. You must comply with the conditions mentioned on this permit.
You can obtain this permit on your online hunting/fishing account or at the reception station of the CGRMP located at 462 St-Jacques Nord in Causapscal. Credit card and debit card payment services are available there.
To be allowed to harvest a female or calf moose, you must, in accordance with the moose management plan, have a special permit of the moose without antlers (OSB) type issued for the Dunière territory. To obtain it, you must participate in a draw specifically for this purpose.
The Lacroix reception station offers certain services and accommodations to customers.
Guide services are available through American plan or modified European plan packages.
CGRMP protection assistants patrol the territory.

It is possible that forestry work, wood transport, or other commercial activities are underway during your stay.
These activities do not constitute a reason for refund or compensation.

From time to time, indigenous people engage in hunting and fishing activities in the area.
